Predicting bleeding in ACS

First doctrine is to do no harm, and this study out of JACC creates a simple risk score based seven different measures to identify patients at increased risk for non-CABG related bleeding, and 1 year mortality.The key factors are:


  1. Female sex
  2. Advanced age
  3. Elevated creatinine and white cell count
  4. Anaemia
  5. NSTEMI
  6. STEMI
  7. Use of heparin and a Gp IIb/IIIa inhibitor rather than bivalirudin alone
