Enough said about NSAIDs?

Uh oh. Looks like Vioxx wasn’t the only NSAID to get in trouble. In a new study out of Copenhagen, both diclofenac and high doses of ibuprofen also have increased cardiovascular risk. 
The study looked at over 2.5 million people who had a least one NSAID, with those patients who had diclofenac at increased risk for cardiovascular death (OR 1.91), with a dose-dependent increase in risk. 


A lot of clinicians are hesitant with their use of NSAIDs in those at cardiovascular risk, and this study confirms some of those concerns.
