Cannot stress this enough – for any female of reproductive age with abdominal pain – you need to consider a pregnancy test. In fact, even without the abdominal pain it’s something to be excluded in many presenting complaints. Ectopic pregnancy can be serious and is often missed, and you should always have it in the back of your diagnostic mind.
