Everytime you go to theatre you’ll hear the rhythmic counting of surgical instruments by the scrub nurses, because every year you hear of stories where some form of surgical implement was accidentally left inside the patient.
To bring the counting into the digital age, Haldor has come up with an awesome new system where every instrument has an RFID tag, and are scanned into a computer before the operation. Antennas are located around the sterile field, so at any stage the system can tell you where any surgical implement is.
