The risk behind cardiovascular disease

Cardiovascular disease is common, treatable, and a major cause of morbidity and mortality across the Western world. Question is, what is the lifetime risk of having cardiovascular disease?

Here’s a nice population study of over 250,000 patients, presenting as a headline article in NEJM. Thankfully, it’s what you expected – aggressive risk factor management reduces burden of disease and overall mortality. A good read, which you can find here.
